How to Disable SpamBlocker on cox.net email

If you use a cox.net email address, you might be missing email that is blocked by the spam filter and never know it. The SpamBlocker settings on webmail for cox.net default to “Delete incoming junk email automatically”. This is less than ideal. We’ll review how to change the settings to “Tag junk email with –spam”. Note: The maximum message size on cox.net email is a bit vague. I’ve found the limit is 20mb, but it appears to be only 2mb.

  1. Open your browser and go to http://www.cox.net
  2. Sign in with your cox.net user id and password.

  3. Select Go, WebMail

  4. Confirm the Inbox is selected on the left, and select Settings from the menu.

  5. Select SpamBlock Settings

  6. Select “Tag Junk email with –Spam” and click ok.

  7. At this point, the Cox spam filter will not block email. It will continue to block large email, and it will block it for other reasons. This will eliminate one possibility of missing email, though.
